Our neon signs are crafted from lead glass tubing, typically with external diameters ranging from 8 to 15 mm. The tubing is heated in sections using various burners—such as ribbon, cannon, or crossfire burners—tailored to the amount of glass needing heat for each bend, using a simple combination of natural gas and air.
An electrode is melted onto each end of the tube upon completion. These electrodes, made of lead glass, contain a small metal shell with two wires that extend through the glass for later wiring attachment. Ensuring that all welds and seals are perfectly leak-proof is essential before proceeding. The glass is then shaped according to a specific pattern using a ribbon burner and crossfire.
